The Chairman of the UAE Space Agency board HE Dr. Khalifa Mohammed Al Rumaithi, and the agency’s Director General HE Dr. Mohammad Nasser Al Ahbabi met with a number of ambassadors and representatives from friendly nations to the UAE with advanced space programs. The parties reviewed potential avenues of cooperation in the fields of academia, science and manufacturing technology within the space industry.
The agency received visits from HE Phillip Parham, the UK’s Ambassador to the UAE, and HE Alexander Efimov, Russia’s Ambassador to the UAE. The UAE Space Agency also met with a delegation from Kazakhstan, headed by Mr. Talgat Musabayev, Space and Civil aviation Advisor to the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan and Head of the National Space Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan who was accompanied by HE Kairat Lama Sharif, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the UAE.
The visitors extended their congratulations to the United Arab Emirates and its wise leadership in its decision to establish a space agency, and moving with its plans to join the race for space discovery and the planned launch of the Mars probe project. Carrying out these plans will allow the UAE to join the ranks of advanced spacefaring nations with a sophisticated space-technology platform.
The parties expressed their full support to the UAE Space Agency in the development of an advanced Emirati space sector. For its part, the agency explained in detail the importance for the UAE to establish the agency, launch the Mars probe project, and the role of the agency in creating a scientific base.
