Global optics company Samyang Optics will showcase its flagship XEEN cine prime lenses and 2020 launches – the 16mm and 35mm – as well as products from IBC 2019 – the 24mm, 50mm, and 85mm –at CABSAT this year. Samyang Optics claims the XEEN lenses have expanded the world’s imaging market by providing not just high image quality because of great precision optical technology but also due to their special coating technology.
With more cinematographers preferring ‘compact, lightweight’ video equipment, the XEEN CF offers a light-weight option as the first full-frame cinema lens that uses carbon fiber, which is lighter than metal but sturdier, in the lens barrel.
The XEEN CF supports large image sensors installed in the latest movie cameras and is compatible with PL, Sony E, and Canon EF mounts. It is also easily compatible with equipment such as drones and gimbals, enabling flexible equipment operation. Also, carbon fiber has been used for lightweight while maintaining durability, adding luxury through future-oriented design.
With 8K support and X-coating technology, the lens itself and internal light reflections can be effectively controlled to create a distinctive look, with flare and ghosts for dramatic effects. It maximizes the delicate emotions of the figures while showing rich depiction, T1.5 bright aperture value and 11 aperture blades produce excellent low light performance and beautiful bokeh.
