SES has signed a five-year deal with Tototheo Maritime, a Cyprus-based maritime communications company, to bring data connectivity services to Tototheo’s customers. This will be done via SES Networks’ Skala Global Platform.
SES Networks’ Skala Global Platform’s flexible bandwidth management, advanced automatic beam switching, and sophisticated network management system will allow crew and operators to take full advantage of connectivity-powered services that can boost profitability, efficiency, and crew welfare.
The companies said Tototheo Maritime’s customers will benefit from an efficient communication VSAT network that optimises fleet operations and cost efficiency, while enabling the crew to stay connected to their families.
Speaking about the deal, Despina Pan Theodosiou, Joint CEO at Tototheo Maritime said: “We are very excited to enter into this partnership with SES Networks. At Tototheo Maritime we take great pride in our long-term relationships with partners and customers, which allow us to create synergies and add to the value chain. We believe we have found a like-minded partner in SES.”
Simon Gatty Saunt, Vice President Sales, Global Partners at SES Networks, added: “Faster and more reliable connectivity represents an incredible opportunity for shipowners. In fact, ship owners in Tototheo Maritime’s market understand the need to leverage new technologies to reduce operating costs and deliver long-term value. The connectivity delivered by SES Networks opens up these strategic options for shipowners and removes the connectivity barriers that have held many others in the industry back.”
