EgSA hosts delegates of Portuguese Space Agency

During the meeting, the delegates discussed cooperation between Portugal and Egypt in science and space.

Egyptian Space Agency (EgSA) hosted the Ambassador of Portugal to Egypt, Dr Manuela Franco, and the President of the Portuguese Space Agency, Ricardo Conde at its headquarters in Cairo, Space in Africa reported.

The meeting provided an opportunity for Portugal and Egypt to discuss science and space cooperation.

Dr Mohammed Al Qousi, Executive President of Egyptian Space Agency, accompanied the delegates on a tour around EgSA’s establishment, which included a visit to the Assembly, Integration and Testing (AIT) building headquarters, the agency laboratories, various satellite factories and the latest technology and human capabilities within the agency.

In his opening remarks, Dr Al-Qousi expressed his happiness for the ongoing cooperation between the two countries in space science and technology and his optimism for shared responsibility and the upcoming space science and technology partnerships.

Dr Said Eman Mahmoud, head of Space Mobility Group, presented possible areas of cooperation in the field of space science and technology, which is expected to be achieved soon. Also, Dr Mohammed Iraqi, Vice President of EgSA, presented the current agency’s projects and future ones. He highlighted how the cooperation will strengthen the ties between the two countries and lead to a more fruitful collaboration in other thematic areas.
