Sidus Space, a multi-faceted Space and Data-as-a-Service company, has announced its successful bid for an Indefinite-Delivery/Indefinite-Quantity (IDIQ) contract, valued at $10m, to provide essential services to a US-owned company in support of their commercial lunar programme. This five-year contract represents a significant milestone in the burgeoning lunar exploration sector.
Under this contract, Sidus will extend support to a lunar transportation, infrastructure, and exploration services company by offering a comprehensive array of services, including Programme Management, Flight Software, Command & Data Handling (C&DH), as well as Electrical and Thermal support services. A commercial lunar programme encompasses a wide range of activities, from payload integration and operational aspects to the launch from Earth and landing on the Moon’s surface. The significance of lunar missions cannot be overstated, as they hold the potential to shape the future of commercial space, especially in light of the escalating preparations for human missions to the Moon and, eventually, Mars.
