Du, from Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (EITC), has announced that its Samacom Al Qudra teleport facility has achieved the Tier 4 certification under the Teleport Certification Programme by the World Teleport Association (WTA). This recognition solidifies du’s position as a key player in the global broadcasting and telecommunications landscape, offering network reliability and high-quality satellite services.
The Teleport Certification Programme, renowned for its rigorous evaluation process, underscores du’s dedication to creating a conducive environment for satellite operators and service providers. The Tier 4 certification specifically acknowledges du Samacom’s support for Geostationary (GEO), Low Earth Orbit (LEO), and Medium Earth Orbit (MEO) satellite constellations.

The Al Qudra facility, spanning an expansive 75,000 sqm, boasts full visibility of the geostationary arc without any physical line-of-sight obstructions. Completed in 2021, the teleport facility currently features 45 transmit/receive antennas and 22 receive-only antennas, providing comprehensive access to S, C, Ku, and DBS band satellites.
