Gilat secures $10m follow-on order from US department of defence

Gilat to provide additional DKET 3421 terminals for easy-to-deploy transportable satcom network hubs.

Gilat Satellite Networks has announced that the US Department of Defence has awarded a $10m follow-on order to one of the company’s US-based subsidiaries, DataPath. This additional order is specifically for DKET 3421 terminals, which are transportable satcom hubs known for their operational flexibility, capacity, connectivity, and control, crucial for ensuring success anywhere in the world.

The field-proven DKET 3421 terminal is designed to support multi-carrier operations with a scalable modem architecture, accommodating up to 32 modems. Remarkably, the terminal weighs under 5000 lbs., enabling easy transport via air, land, or sea using a variety of aircraft and vehicles. With deployment in less than three hours, the DKET 3421 serves as a satellite network hub in the form of a single-skid, offering the flexibility to leverage available satellite assets effectively.

Commenting on the deal, Barry W. Botts, Vice President, Sales and Business Development for DataPath, said: “Our solutions are specifically tailored to meet the strict requirements of government and military operations. We take great pride in our unwavering dedication to meeting and exceeding the expectations of our customers, and our team works tirelessly to provide innovative solutions to their mission-critical requirements.
