Thuraya extends support to ‘Educate a Child, Build a Nation’ initiative

The initiative helps children develop computer literacy skills from a young age

Thuraya has announced its support for Information City’s “Educate a Child, Build a Nation” initiative, which advocates computer literacy for children in the UAE.

Ahmad Al Shareef, Vice President of Human Resources and Support Operations at Thuraya said, “We strongly believe in the “Educate a Child, Build a Nation” initiative as it helps children develop computer literacy skills from a young age. As a UAE-based satellite operator, Thuraya encourages UAE youth to embrace technology to further enhance their technical capabilities through education. Computer literacy is a lifelong skill which can eventually lead to job opportunities, such as a career within the satellite communications industry. The UAE satellite and space industry is one of the most exciting new sectors supporting the nation’s burgeoning economy. Our participation in this cause further exemplifies Thuraya’s commitment in creating opportunities for UAE Nationals.”

His Highness believes in the importance of providing educational and training opportunities for all UAE citizens, regardless of gender or nationality, as these citizens are the cornerstone of the Emirates’ economic and social development.
