This system, which is reportedly unique in the world, will let users on the train enjoy advanced internet services on their own devices. For the first time, according to the company, it includes an exclusive solution for real time television reception; this will let passengers see, for example, sporting events or television series as if they were in the living room of their own homes.

Through a combination of multicast and unicast transmission, Hispasat will offer high quality broadband connectivity without interruption along the entire journey of the train, even when it passes through tunnels. In addition, the project includes a gyro-stabilised antenna which maintains a permanent connection with the satellite. This is integrated into the train’s chassis through an aerodynamic configuration approved by Hispasat.

This innovative service is also exportable to other regions where the Hispasat group operates.
