MBRSC participates in Mohamed bin Zayed Majlis for Future Generations

The Centre highlighted 18 educational initiatives it has launched on space science, research and technology. It also held four workshops for raising awareness on Mars and space in general in the interactive exhibition, The Hub

MBRSC has participated at the first Mohamed bin Zayed Majlis for Future Generations, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, The Centre highlighted 18 educational initiatives it has launched on space science, research and technology. It also held four workshops for raising awareness on Mars and space in general in the interactive exhibition, The Hub.

Director General of MBRSC, His Excellency Yousuf Hamad Al Shaibani, said: “The Mohamed bin Zayed Majlis for Future Generations is a distinctive and ambitious initiative that aims to cultivate the Emirati youth and express confidence in their abilities to continue our country’s successes.” He also stressed on the importance of guiding young people to explore and work in new fields that will serve the UAE’s strategies for decades to come.

“MBRSC is making every effort and utilising all its capabilities to develop young people’s skills and qualifications with respect to space science, research and technology,” Al Shaibani concluded.

Through its participation in the Majlis, MBRSC’s team of engineers and specialists held their first workshop under the title “Mars VS. Earth” which tackled both the similarities and the differences between the two planets, the reasons for the global interest in Mars, as well as how to reach scientific conclusions using data and information from previous missions to Mars.

In a workshop entitled “Building a Space Mission to Mars”, MBRSC’s team briefed the participants on the phases of building space missions, from identifying scientific questions to launching the rocket.

Another workshop entitled “Steller Journey”, which covered stars formation, life cycle and ultimate fate, through hands-on activities, participants learn how to distinguish between different stars, how to classify them and how these techniques are adapted on scientific instruments.

In a workshop held under the title “Lunar journey” highlighted the life cycle of moons, the team explained facts and information about moons and how they move over time from one planet to another in the Solar System.

Moreover, MBRSC has carried out a number of live scientific experiments that have drawn a lot of interest and engagement of the youth visiting The Hub.
