Solution provider and teleport operator, Media Broadcast Satellite (MBS) and GovSat, a Luxembourg-based satellite operator, are showcasing the companies’ combined range of secure, flexible connectivity services for government and defence users at the international defence and security exhibition, Eurosatory, in Paris from 11-15 June.
MBS is collaborating closely with GovSat to provide secure, reliable and accessible communications services to government and defence users. The operator launched its first satellite, GovSat-1, in January 2018 which is now fully operational. This satellite offers X-band and military Ka-Band capacity over Europe, Africa, the Middle East and substantial maritime coverage over the Mediterranean and Baltic Seas and the Atlantic and Indian oceans. GovSat-1 also features encrypted Command and Control and anti-jamming capabilities.
“MBS has many years of experience in serving the diverse and mission-critical needs of government users from all over the world with our seamless and ubiquitous connectivity,” said Sven Sünberg, Managing Director, MBS.
“The services we offer are constantly evolving as we identify emerging requirements within this dynamic sector and we are proud to be able to showcase our capabilities at Eurosatory this year with our partner, GovSat with whom we are working to deliver the highly secure, on-demand connectivity anywhere that government users are looking for.”
“We are delighted to be present jointly at Eurosatory with the German SatCom Service Provider Media Broadcast Satellite. The combination of Media Broadcast Satellite’s solutions and product portfolio with GovSat-1’s capabilities is a strong proposition”, commented Jürgen Espanion, CTO, GovSat.
During the event, MBS will also be showcasing its ruggedised, lightweight, end-to-end, fully-managed VSAT solutions for high performance, easy-to-use, rapid deploy connectivity on-the-move or on-the-pause. MBS offers premium antenna solutions from the most innovative developers on the market that meet the stringent requirements of defence users.
MBS has been delivering communications solutions to the government and military community since the 1970s from its teleport in Usingen, Germany. Equipped with up to 135 active antennas and a 24/7 manned Network Operations Center, the company enables connectivity in government use frequency bands (X-band and MIL Ka-band) as well as in commercial bands (C-, Ku-, and Ka-band) and throughout its worldwide fibre network. This facilitates an array of applications such as connectivity for theatres of operation, interconnection and interoperability of institutional or defence sites/network entities, command & control (C2), Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR), border control, SOF (special operations) missions. MBS’ infrastructure and services are EU/US security compliant and ISO 27001 (cyber security) certified.
“MBS’ government communications offering is more comprehensive than ever. By listening to our customers, we have been able to develop wide ranging solutions from military-off-the-shelf services to fully managed and mission tailored solutions that address assured access for mission-critical services and in-theater applications, and we look forward to serving this vital sector today and in the future,” concludes Sünberg.
