Qualitynet, ICT & Data Communications services provider has announced that it has won the license to provide Internet, telecommunications and satellite services in Iraq. Thereby, making Qualitynet the first Kuwaiti telecommunications service provider to win a service license after a strong competition with a number of Iraqi and international companies.
Commenting on the announcement, Mohammed Nizar Al-Nusif, CEO of Qualitynet said: “We are proud that Qualitynet has won the license to provide Internet & Information Communication Services in the Republic of Iraq, as the first Kuwaiti telecommunications service provider competing to provide these services throughout Iraq to the north, with the license of the southern gate of Iraq in connection with Kuwait. Winning this license comes after an extensive study of the needs of the Iraqi market, the estimation of investment volumes and feasibility studies for the establishment of infrastructure and will complement our strategic plan for Regional and International expansion.”
Al-Nusif explained that, under this license, Qualitynet is entitled to provide all telecommunications services from networking to the Internet for institutional and individual sectors. He pointed out that the strategic location of the State of Kuwait in the northern Arabian Gulf was a key factor to stimulate the company into entering the Iraqi market, as well as how it would contribute to strengthening the alternative routes supporting its services provided in the State of Kuwait. This reflects positively on the strength of the network connection across the northern path from Iraq, to support the southern gate (Safwan/Zubair) to Iraq.
Al-Nusif pointed out that Qualitynet is considered among the first companies to invest in the reconstruction of Iraq, based on positive insights and enthusiasm in contributing to the reconstruction process. The official license was granted by the Iraqi Ministry of Communications and the Media & Communications Authority. Qualitynet will officially offer a wide range of internet, information communication and satellite communication services within Iraq. “Our experts are currently working on deploying the network and infrastructure to provide our services to our customer base across Iraq, and to provide the network with Point-of-Presence devices through Qualitynet Iraq, for which it was officially established” he added.
Al-Nusif concluded by thanking the Iraqi government and all stakeholders, for providing the opportunity for Kuwaiti companies to compete in providing services in the Republic of Iraq, and for trusting in Qualitynet’s capabilities.“Qualitynet stands ready to take every step in providing the best services and will strive to provide stable and secure services to all sectors, including the Government, Oil & Gas, Banking and more.”
