Arabsat announces four new satellites

The first of these is Badr 7 that will be launched at the beginning of next month. Arabsat took into account the design of these satellites to cope with technologies and IT services, adopting the principle of strategic partnerships

At Arabsat’s 8th Broadcasting Forum, Atheer, Khalid Balkheyour, President and CEO of Arabsat announced that the company is launching four new satellites. The first of these is Badr 7 that will be launched at the beginning of next month.

Balkheyour said: “The other three are currently being manufactured, one in partnership with the global operator Inmarsat, the second in partnership with King Abdelaziz City for Science and Technology in Saudi Arabia, and the third in partnership with some Arab administrations, featuring high satellite capacity including Ka-band package capacity, with an investment exceeding $ 1.5b.”

He added that Arabsat took into account the design of these satellites to cope with technologies and IT services, adopting the principle of strategic partnership with satellite operators and satellite communications and broadcast service suppliers.
