Arabsat has announced that within its strategic plans to support and develop TV broadcasting for its customers, a transition plan will be performed for load distribution between Badr-4, Badr-5 and Badr–6 satellites in order to accommodate the growing demand for TV broadcast services on Arabsat exclusive orbital position 26 degrees East, and to meet the increasing marketing and operational requirements to attract new customers.
Founded in 1976, Arabsat carries over 450 TV channels, 160 radio stations, three Pay-TV networks and a wide variety of HD channels reaching tens of millions of homes in more than 80 countries across the Middle East, Africa and Europe. Its reach includes an audience of over 170 million viewers in the MENA region alone from its video hotspot at 26 degrees East.
