Talia Limited, a communications solutions provider serving the Middle East, Africa, Europe and the Americas, announced that it has strengthened its long-term collaboration with satellite operator Arabsat, with the addition of further C-band capacity across the Middle East and Africa.
With this agreement, Talia adds BADR-6 services to its satellite coverage portfolio of Ka-, Ku- and C-band solutions while enabling the company to provide full C-band redundancy to clients in the MENA region. The strengthened collaboration also increases Talia’s capacity on Arabsat 5A, located at 30.5° East.
With wide coverage and resilience to severe heavy conditions, C-band was the first band used for satellite communications and it still plays a key role in the global telecommunication industry.
Speaking about the collaboration, Alan Afrasiab, President and CEO of Talia Limited, commented: “The new capacity on Arabsat BADR-6, together with the additional capacity on Arabsat 5A, reinforces our presence in the market allowing us to expand our already vast range of satellite coverage across the region. Our continued collaboration with Arabsat is a proven example of successful partnership with a world leading satellite operator that we are keen to nurture in the future.”
The partnership between Talia and Arabsat is set to expand further as Talia is currently making plans to uplink Ku-band capacity on Arabsat-6A, a high-power satellite covering the MENA region which was launched by Arabsat in 2015.
Khalid Balkheyour, President and CEO, Arabsat, added: “Talia is a leading teleport, satellite and terrestrial network operator with extensive experience of the Middle East and Africa markets. We are delighted to further cement our partnership with Talia in order to provide even higher quality and reliable services to unconnected communities across the MENA market.”
