Arqiva signs capacity deal with AsiaSat

C-band capacity on AsiaSat 5 to broadcast sporting events to Asia Pacific

Arqiva has signed a contract with AsiaSat for C-band capacity on the AsiaSat 5 satellite to broadcast sporting events to the Asia-Pacific region. AsiaSat 5 is Asia’s premier sports content delivery platform, distributing a variety of sports including football, cricket, volleyball and tennis.

“Asia is a strategically important region for us,” says David Crawford, Arqiva’s Managing Director of Satellite and Media.

“We’ve recently opened an office in Singapore and introduced a teleport service in Hong Kong where we provide fibre connectivity. Our focus on sport is critical to our success in the region and this new relationship with AsiaSat will provide flexible bandwidth and capacity for our customers in the Asia and Australasia region,” he says.
