Azercosmos and ARCEP sign MoU to boost space and digital cooperation

The primary objective of the Memorandum is to develop economic, industrial, scientific, technical and technological cooperation in the areas of satellite services and space activities.

The Space Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Azercosmos, and Chad’s Regulatory Authority for Electronic Communications and Posts (ARCEP) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaboration in digital transformation, innovation hubs and the export of digital products. The agreement aims to foster economic, industrial, scientific, technical and technological cooperation in satellite services and broader space activities.

Under the MoU, the two parties will work together to develop the space ecosystem, providing strategic consultancy and support in areas such as spectrum management, geographic information systems (GIS), remote sensing, satellite communications, satellite operations and ground systems. Regulatory and normative aspects of space activities and satellite services will also be addressed within the framework of the partnership.

The collaboration further extends to exploring business opportunities in telecommunications, video broadcasting and data services, teleports, and ground station operations. Joint initiatives in space technologies, artificial intelligence and Earth observation services are also planned.

Education and human capital development are key elements of the agreement. Programmes under Azercosmos’ SPACE Academy will be implemented for teachers and students, alongside summer schools, satellite initiatives for schools, and other joint educational activities aimed at fostering knowledge and skills in space and digital technologies.

This MoU reflects a growing commitment between Azerbaijan and Chad to leverage space and digital capabilities for economic growth, technological innovation, and educational advancement.
