Dubai Media Inc. (DMI) will broadcast the Dubai Racing Channel, reportedly the only horse and camel racing television channel in the MENA region, exclusively in High Definition on YahLive, the regional HD television satellite platform.

Dubai Racing Channel airs live broadcasts of meetings from Jebel Ali and Nad Al Sheba, including the 11 Dubai Racing Carnival meetings and the showpiece event and world’s richest race, the Dubai World Cup which takes place this year on Saturday 30 March, 2013.

Other major meetings to broadcast live and exclusive on Dubai Racing Channel include those from Sha Tin, Hong Kong, featuring the Group One Champions Mile and Queen Elizabeth II Cup races in April and May.

Mohamed Youssif, CEO of YahLive, said: “Nothing beats true High Definition television for providing a deep, immersive ‘being there’ experience, and it perfectly captures the thrill of speed, colour and motion in horse racing. Dubai Racing Channel is a wonderful addition to YahLive’s ‘Home of HD,’ and builds on our existing partnership with DMI to offer a variety of channels in true HD to keep all the family entertained.”

Launched in July 2008 and broadcast around the world in standard definition, Dubai Racing Channel reportedly offers a wide range of world-class equestrian programming including endurance runs and show jumping.  Live camel race meetings also complement the live horse racing.

Ahmad Al Mansoori, Director General of Channels from Dubai Media Inc., said: “We’re delighted to extend our partnership with YahLive to offer yet another channel in the highest quality HD possible.  Now viewers throughout the MENA region can enjoy the spectacle of world class horseracing in unsurpassed picture quality and an unmatched clarity of sound.”

Broadcasting from the YahSat Y1A satellite at 52.5° East, YahLive now offers nearly 50 free television channels all in High Definition.
