Earth-i, a distributor of imaging and data services from the DMC3/TripleSat constellation with a combination of very high spatial and temporal resolution, has announced the appointment of Dr. Peter Hausknecht to its team of prominent and experienced individuals from the Earth Observation industry. Peter, who becomes Earth-i’s Chief Scientist, is a seasoned subject matter expert in Earth Observation. He has worked with a multitude of sensors and data sets on airborne and spaceborne instruments during his career which has spanned over 25 years.
Dr. Hausknecht holds a PhD in Geoscience from Munich University. He has been a key team member at numerous organisations in the sector including: The German Aerospace Centre, Fugro Airborne Surveys in Australia, and the HyVista Corporation. Prior to joining Earth-i, Peter spent eight years working for Woodside – Australia’s leading Oil and Gas company – as the subject matter expert on Earth Observation and remote sensing.
At an international level, Hausknecht was a founding member of the Oil and Gas Earth Observation (OGEO) interest group and also chairman of the International Association for Oil and Gas Producers (IOGP) sub-committee on Earth Observation.
