EgSA signs agreement with Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport

EgSA will provide 35 units of educational satellite laboratories for engineering and science faculties in different Egyptian universities.

The Egyptian Space Agency (EgSA) and the Faculty of Engineering of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport has signed an executive agreement. The agreement comes under EgSA’s project to build education satellites.

According to the statement EgSA released, the agreement works to build a broad base of human resources qualified to work in space science and technology, capable of achieving sustainable development goals.

It will enable EgSA to establish satellite laboratories in Egyptian universities. This will create opportunities for students to understand and explore the design and working methods of satellite and other technologies used in the space industry.

Under this agreement, EgSA will provide 35 units of educational satellite laboratories for engineering and science faculties in different Egyptian universities and motivate students to design their own space system with co-financing from the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology.

Mohamed el Qousi,  CEO of EgSA, said: “The establishment of educational satellite laboratories in Egyptian universities will contribute to new job opportunities and empower young with requisite skills to participate in the space industry.”
