robert-bell_wtaThe World Teleport Association (WTA) has announced that three new industry-leading companies have applied for certification of their teleports under WTA’s recently launched Teleport Certification Program. Eutelsat, Globecomm and Signalhorn have joined du, Elara Comunicaciones, GlobalSat and The Talia Group in agreeing to serve as beta customers for the programme. These beta customers will assist WTA in preparing the Certification Program for market while also receiving Certification of their operations through the programme.

“We are very gratified to have two leading teleport operators and one of the world’s top satellite operators commit to our new program,” said executive director Robert Bell. “It is a testament to the two years of development and consultation that went into designing it and the outstanding work of our Certification Committee.”

WTA’s Teleport Certification Programme aims to serve both teleport operators and their customers by creating an objective, transparent, and internationally accepted method for teleport operators to document the quality of their operations for customers and strategic partners. It also aims to provide a means for customers to select teleport vendors delivering the price-performance level that is appropriate for their applications.
