New research from the Arab Advisors Group reveals that the average ad rates for FTA satellite TV are highest during night time between 21:00 and 22:00 Saudi Arabia’s time.
Peak average advertising rate – of 38 FTA satellite TV channels in the Arab World- reached US$3,299 for a 30-second TV commercial.
FTA satellite TV peak average ad rate increased from US$3,125 in 2011 to US$3,299 in 2012, a growth of 5.6%
The average advertising rate for a particular time segment represents the mean advertising rate for a standard 30-second TV commercial spot (known as a TVC) in that time segment throughout the weeK.
Arab Advisors research and analysis revealed that news and current affairs channels have the highest average advertising rates amongst FTA satellite TV channels in the Arab World. The peak average advertising rates of these channels reaches US$5,460 between 21:00 – 22:00 KSA.
A new report, “Satellite TV Advertising Rates in the Arab World 2012”, was released by the Arab Advisors Group on May 1, 2012 to the Strategic Research Service Media subscribers.
The categories in which the analysed channels fall under are as follows: Children and Youth channels, General channels, Movies and Series channels, Music channels, News and Current Affairs channels, Religious channels and Sports channels.
“Of the 38 analysed FTA satellite TV channels, MBC Group’s Arabic language General channel – MBC1 – has the highest average advertising rate. Whereas, the three Music channels: Mazzika, Melody Hits and Zoom, which have identical ad rates, have the lowest average advertising rates,” Noura Abdulhadi, Arab Advisors Project Manager, commented. “FTA satellite TV peak average ad rate increased from US$3,125 in 2011 to US$3,299 in 2012, a growth of 5.6%.”
