HISPASAT and QUANTIS, the satellite subsidiary of the Europa group, will sponsor a new edition of the Titan Desert mountain bike race to be held from 30 April to 5 May in the Moroccan desert. Both companies will provide satellite connectivity to the more than 400 racers participating this year, as well as to the organisers of the event and to journalists covering the race. Thanks to the satellite, all those participating in the race will be able to connect to the internet in an area combining high mountains and desert and that currently cannot be reached by terrestrial infrastructure.
Both companies will provide Gaes Titan Desert by Garmin, the organiser of this sporting event, communication services for the proper functioning of the race, GPS localisation of the racers and satellite internet in the camps allowing the participants to be connected 24/7 with their families and immediate surroundings and to update their social media profiles so as to share their experiences with all their followers.
Furthermore, thanks to this alliance, the members of the media that follow the marathon will be able to send their reports and quality pictures and videos at maximum speed to their publications and newsrooms. What’s more, a camera will be installed at the finish line enabling to view the outcome at the end of each stage and provide live coverage of the cyclists’ arrival, which will be streamed on the website of Gaes Titan Desert by Garmin: www.titandesert.com.
HISPASAT and QUANTIS have joined forces to make all of this possible in an environment as remote as the Moroccan desert. Thus, the HISPASAT satellite fleet – which has a high coverage ratio in the country – and the connection services of QUANTIS, through its Moroccan subsidiary NORTIS – with abundant experience and penetration on the African continent, where, in addition to homes and businesses, it has connected over 5,000 schools and has given Internet access to half a million students – will once again work hand in hand during this competition to guarantee participants extreme connectivity in an equally extreme situations.
This is the twelfth edition of the Gaes Titan Desert by Garmin in which more than 400 participants defy the mountains and desert of Morocco in the spirit of this high-level competitive adventure with the aim of challenging themselves and exceeding their goals.
