KACST launches Saudi Arabia from Space platform

The platform showcases the work of KACST’s National Lab in advancing technological solutions and delivering, processing and analysing satellite imagery.

The King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) has launched the Saudi Arabia from Space platform, an initiative unveiled on National Day that presents the Kingdom’s geographical and tourist landmarks through high-resolution satellite imagery and advanced remote sensing technologies, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

The platform is the product of KACST’s National Lab, which is dedicated to developing cutting-edge technological solutions. It processes and analyses satellite imagery to make data accessible not only to government and private institutions but also to researchers and the public.

Beyond offering detailed visual content, the platform plays a key role in supporting education, innovation, planning and documentation, while also promoting tourism and preserving cultural heritage. By highlighting Saudi Arabia’s vast natural landscapes, environmental diversity, and urban growth, the platform provides an engaging and reliable resource that underscores the Kingdom’s presence on the global stage and strengthens its national visual identity.

The launch reflects KACST’s broader commitment to applying modern technologies in documenting Saudi identity and natural wealth from perspectives that go beyond traditional methods. Positioned as both an educational and promotional tool, the platform is expected to support a wide range of national projects and initiatives while presenting Saudi Arabia’s beauty and progress through a uniquely innovative lens.
