Commercial remote sensing satellite set to take off on August 13
Lockheed Martin Commercial Launch Services will launch and place DigitalGlobe’s WorldView-3 commercial remote sensing spacecraft into orbit on August 13. The satellite will be launched aboard an Atlas 5 from Space Launch Complex 3E at Vandenberg Air Force Base, in California in the United States.
DigitalGlobe is a leading provider of commercial high-resolution Earth observation and advanced geospatial solutions. Its WorldView-3 satellite will have an average revisit time of less than one day and will be capable of collecting up to 680,000sq km of imagery per day from an expected altitude of 617km. WorldView-3 can capture imagery in both visible and infrared spectrum.
