Michael Foley appointed as CEO of Telenor Pakistan

Foley to replace Lars Christian Iuel starting in July

Telenor has appointed Michael Foley as the new CEO of Telenor Pakistan. Taking effect from July 1, 2014, Foley replaces Lars Christian Iuel.

Foley has more than 30 years of sales, marketing and operational experience in the telecom and retail sectors. He will take over Telenor Pakistan during a time of growth as the company is set to further develop its consumer internet position with a recently granted 3G license.

“I look forward to taking on the exciting challenge of joining Telenor Pakistan at this important moment. When the country firmly transitions into a digital future, Telenor Pakistan is well positioned to provide both new and innovative data-based services as well as best-in-class voice and SMS. The people of Pakistan should expect to see growth in internet penetration during the years to come, to the benefit of individuals, the business community and the society at large,” says Foley.

Since its launch in 2005, Telenor Pakistan has built a customer base of 35 million and is the second-largest operator in the country.
