Mohammed Al Haj appointed COO of Kuwait-based Gulfsat

Gulfsat, the Kuwait-based satellite services provider has appointed Mohammed Al Haj as chief operating officer.

Gulfsat, the Kuwait-based satellite services provider has appointed Mohammed Al Haj as chief operating officer.

Mohammed brings with him over 19 years of experience in the fields of telecommunication, technology  and multimedia.

Previously, Mohammed al Haj held key executive positions at United Networks. He was the Chairman of the executive board at Gulfnet Communications overseeing corporate restructuring, the development of business strategy and growth programmes. He was also the COO at United Networks responsible for the development and delivery of ICT integrated technology solutions.

In 2002, Mohammed was on the technical advisory board of a US $100 million joint venture between a regional investment group and a telecommunication group in Malaysia (AltasONE Malasia Sdn,Bhd) to deliver broadband communication with local wireless backhauling solutions. Prior to that, Mohammed held the position of ICT director at Gulf University for Science and Technology.

He started his career as an IBM systems programmer at the Kuwait-based Public Authority Applied for Education and Training. He is a member of the International Facility Management Association.
