Namibia has taken a major step forward in strengthening its digital and communications infrastructure after Radio Electronic (PTY) Ltd, through its subsidiary Blue Telecommunications, secured regulatory approval to provide Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite services across the country. The approval clears the way for the nationwide deployment of Eutelsat OneWeb connectivity.

The regulatory green light is a key pillar of Radio Electronic’s 2026 strategy, which focuses on introducing advanced LEO satellite technology to enhance Namibia’s communications ecosystem. The rollout is expected to deliver high-performance, reliable connectivity tailored to maritime operations, enterprise users, mission-critical services, and communities that remain underserved by traditional networks.

By leveraging LEO satellites, the initiative aims to provide low-latency, high-speed broadband, improving network resilience while supporting digital inclusion and broader economic growth. The move underscores Namibia’s commitment to embracing innovative connectivity solutions as part of its ongoing national digital transformation efforts.

Radio Electronic said the approval reflects its dedication to deploying globally recognised satellite technology within a locally licensed and regulated framework, expanding access to robust and secure communications networks. The company noted it is keen to collaborate with customers, partners, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality LEO satellite services throughout the country.

As Namibia enters this new phase of satellite communications, the introduction of Eutelsat OneWeb services is expected to significantly strengthen the country’s digital infrastructure, extend connectivity to remote regions, and contribute to long-term social and economic development nationwide.
