Chirag Patel joins Globalstar as Director of Product Management

Globalstar has been investing in its satellite IoT business with Haight and Patel as new hires.

Chirag Patel has joined Globalstar as Director of Product Management, a newly created role.

In his new role, Patel will report to Dave Haight, Vice President of IoT, who joined Globalstar from AT&T earlier this year.

Patel will lead the company’s product vision, strategy, roadmap and go to market plans for industrial IoT products, services, and Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions.

He joins Globalstar from Carrier where he led the launch of Lynx Fleet at Carrier – an IoT end-to-end solution that monitored and managed more than 1m temperature-controlled trucks, trailers and containers transporting fresh food and pharmaceutical globally.

Prior to Carrier, Patel led and launched the digitisation of Verizon’s mobile device management platform: ThingSpace. He also launched an online marketplace site for customers to easily purchase products and services.

At a startup company, Enfora, Patel launched several cellular modems, mobile tracking, asset tracking products and a SaaS platform for the transportation industry.

Speaking about the appointment, David Haight said: “Chirag is an exceptional addition to our team. With his extensive background and knowledge in IoT hardware and software products and services, his experience will be invaluable in helping to guide Globalstar’s growing IoT business.”
Dave Kagan, CEO of Globalstar, added: “The Fortune 20 expertise Chirag brings to Globalstar will introduce a new standard of excellence surrounding our innovation roadmap in IoT. We look forward to continuing our momentum and Chirag will play a key role in advancing our strategy.”
