NIGCOMSAT and Eutelsat to expand LEO satellite connectivity in Nigeria

The initiative will enhance nationwide remote communications, mobile connectivity and offshore operations.

The Nigerian Communications Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) has joined forces with Eutelsat to provide advanced Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite services across Nigeria. The collaboration, announced by NIGCOMSAT’s Corporate Affairs office, will leverage OneWeb’s cutting-edge LEO satellite network to enhance connectivity nationwide.

The partnership aims to deliver high-speed, low-latency connectivity solutions for various sectors, including government services, businesses and rural communities. It is expected to improve remote communications, mobile connectivity and offshore operations across the country.

Speaking on the partnership, Jane Egerton-Idehen, Managing Director of NIGCOMSAT, said: “We are delighted to deepen our collaboration with Eutelsat, a globally renowned satellite technology leader.
