
The Board of Directors of Oman Telecommunications Company (Omantel) has named Eng. Aladdin bin Abdullah Bait Fadhil as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer. His appointment marks a leadership transition for the operator as it continues to advance its strategic vision, “Portal to the Future,” with the goal of strengthening Omantel’s role as a regional digital leader.
Before assuming the top position, Eng. Aladdin served as Omantel’s Chief Commercial Officer, where he played a key role in shaping the company’s commercial direction, driving digital transformation efforts, and reinforcing its standing as one of the region’s major integrated telecom providers. With more than two decades of experience in the telecommunications sector, he brings deep industry expertise, a strong strategic mindset and extensive knowledge of market trends.
Throughout his career at Omantel, Eng. Aladdin helped grow the company’s enterprise and wholesale services, elevate customer experience and establish strategic partnerships aligned with Oman’s broader digital economy aspirations. His elevation to CEO also underscores Omantel’s ongoing commitment to promoting national talent and developing Omani leadership across its operations.
Eng. Aladdin holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Sultan Qaboos University and has pursued executive education at Harvard Business School, London Business School, and Manchester Business School. The Board expressed full confidence in his ability to guide Omantel through its next phase of innovation and growth, building on the company’s strong foundation and dedication to delivering long-term value to customers, shareholders and the nation.
