Omantel, the primary provider of comprehensive telecommunication services in the Sultanate of Oman, has introduced the latest Fiber To The Room (FTTR) solution, setting a standard for home broadband experiences in the region.
Omantel reportedly became the first internet service provider in the Sultanate to deploy FTTR, a solution designed to significantly elevate customer satisfaction throughout every corner of the home.
Saleh Mahmood Al Maimani, Senior Manager Residential, Omantel, said: “This marks a notable advancement in seamless connectivity within rooms. Employing a 2-mm thin and transparent fiber cable, we are replacing traditional network cables in an innovative manner to deliver a premium experience of full gigabit coverage and uninterrupted Wi-Fi connectivity.”
From compact apartments to expansive villas, Omantel’s FTTR ensures reliable high-speed connectivity and minimal latency, covering up to 10 rooms. This upgrade caters to diverse home entertainment needs, facilitating seamless streaming of 8K Ultra High Definition (UHD), enabling cloud gaming services, and enhancing the overall smart home living experience.
