Ooredoo Kuwait has announced the appointment of Issa Haidar as Chief Technology Officer, effective immediately. In his new role, Haidar will lead Ooredoo Kuwait’s strategic technology initiatives, aligning them with the company’s mission of enhancing lives through advanced communication solutions.
Haidar brings nearly two decades of telecommunications experience to the role, having joined Ooredoo Kuwait in August 2005. He has held various positions of increasing responsibility, most recently serving as Director of Network Planning and Design. His leadership has been crucial in executing transformative projects such as the Mubarakiya Smart City, sustainable initiatives like Solar Hybrid-Powered Boosters, and other technological advancements, including the ProPing Gaming Lab.
Haidar’s expertise spans network and data analysis, access networks, telecommunications and resource optimisation. As Director of Network Planning and Design, he oversaw strategic planning, growth, and the successful deployment of 5G technology and evaluation of 5.5G technology.
Haidar holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and an MBA, and has received training from prestigious institutions such as the University of Michigan – Stephen M. Ross School of Business, London Business School, Harvard ManageMentor, and the University of Wisconsin.
Ooredoo Kuwait CEO, Abdulaziz Al-Babtain, and Group CEO, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Thani, expressed confidence in Haidar’s capabilities to guide the company towards further success.
