Qualcomm Technologies and Aramco Digital have announced plans for a strategic collaboration aimed at accelerating the development, deployment, and commercialisation of advanced edge AI and industrial Internet of Things (IoT) technologies in Saudi Arabia. The partnership is set to play a key role in the digital transformation of the Kingdom’s industrial sectors, aligning with the broader goals of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
Under this collaboration, Aramco Digital will leverage Qualcomm Technologies’ cutting-edge products and services to create a portfolio of intelligent edge AI industrial devices and end-to-end solutions tailored to the unique needs of Saudi industries. These innovations are designed to enhance operational efficiency, productivity, safety and sustainability across various sectors, while enabling breakthrough applications such as predictive maintenance, asset management, worker assistance tools and visual anomaly detection.
The initiative also includes plans to utilise Aramco Digital’s dedicated 450 MHz 5G industrial network to connect a wide range of smart edge devices powered by Qualcomm Technologies. These include smartphones, industrial-grade equipment, drones, robots, cameras and sensors. Together, the companies aim to build capabilities that will allow for the seamless deployment, management, and updating of AI models across Aramco Digital’s intelligent edge infrastructure.

The strategic agreement was formalised during the Saudi-US Investment Forum held in Riyadh, part of the official visit of US President Donald Trump to the Kingdom. This collaboration marks a significant step in fostering technological innovation and industrial modernisation within Saudi Arabia.
