Rocket Lab has carried out a satellite launch for Japan-based constellation operator Synspective, marking the company’s 84th mission using its Electron rocket and its eighth dedicated flight for the customer.
The mission, named “Eight Days A Week,” lifted off from Launch Complex 1 in New Zealand, deploying Synspective’s eighth StriX satellite into a 573-km low Earth orbit. The spacecraft is equipped with synthetic aperture radar technology designed for Earth observation, enabling global remote monitoring and data services for both government and commercial users.
As part of the dedicated launch arrangement, Rocket Lab supplied a customised Electron payload fairing specifically engineered to accommodate the satellite’s technical specifications. The tailored component highlights the company’s focus on delivering mission-specific solutions to meet customer requirements.
Rocket Lab has maintained a flawless mission success rate for Synspective launches, reinforcing a long-term collaboration between the two companies. The partnership has recently been expanded to include 19 additional dedicated missions that will deploy the remainder of Synspective’s satellite constellation by 2028.
With a total of 27 planned launches, Electron now serves as the primary launch vehicle for Synspective’s constellation programme. The rocket’s reliability, rapid launch scheduling, and precise deployment capabilities have made it a preferred choice among satellite operators seeking accurate and efficient constellation expansion.
