SAT>IP ALLIANCE to showcase the future of multi-screen at Satellite 2019

The SAT>IP Alliance, a global consortium of satellite operators, device manufacturers, broadcasters and service providers, will be updating attendees at SATELLITE 2019 on the high quality, multi-screen content delivery capabilities of the SAT>IP protocol.
Thomas Wrede, President of the SAT>IP Alliance.

The SAT>IP Alliance brings together members including Arcadyan, Eutelsat, HISPASAT, Irdeto, MaxLinear, NAGRA, Panasonic, SES, Verimatrix and Zinwell. The group supports the use of SAT>IP technology as a way for satellite TV providers to deliver content to any TV screen, smartphone, games console or tablet in the home.

SAT>IP Alliance members exhibiting at SATELLITE 2019 include Eutelsat (1025) and Hispasat (1325).

SAT>IP enables a totally seamless multi-screen TV experience without using a home broadband connection. This reduces operator costs and enables advanced, multi-screen consumer services – even in locations where broadband is not reliable enough to handle live, high-definition video.

“SATELLITE 2019 is a great opportunity for broadcasters and service providers to hear about how the SAT>IP protocol can create compelling advantages for delivering next generation, innovative multi-screen experiences. The protocol has enormous potential to help open-up new business models for personalised, device specific content packages that will strongly differentiate them from competitors” said Thomas Wrede, President of the SAT>IP Alliance.

SAT>IP is currently supported by satellites covering 95% of the globe, reaching over a billion viewers and over 40 manufacturers and technology companies.

Satellite 2019 will be hosted in Washington from May 6 – 9, 2019.
