Thales Alenia Space and Gazprom Space Systems have announced that the Yamal-601 satellite has started its transition to the geostationary orbit.
The specialists are implementing the in orbit raising backup strategy, in line with the operating documentation and focusing on the safety of the spacecraft.
The first manoeuver lasted about two hours and was successful. All the parameters of the satellite are nominal. The flight program provides for multiple repetitions of such manoeuvres.

The contractual in-orbit service lifetime will not be impacted (15 years).
