SpaceX has launched 60 more Starlink satellites February 4 on a mission that notched a booster-reusability milestone for the company.
A two-stage Falcon 9 rocket topped with the 60 broadband spacecraft lifted off from Space Launch Complex 40 here at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station on February 4 at 1:19 a.m. EST (0619 GMT).
The rocket’s first stage landed on a drone ship in the Atlantic Ocean eight-and-a-half minutes after liftoff. The booster was on its fifth flight, having been used most recently for the launch of the Turksat 5A satellite January 8.
SpaceX aims to set up a constellation of satellites to form a global broadband internet system. The company passed the milestone of 1,000 Starlink satellites launched last month, but more than 60 of those satellites have deorbited since their launches.
