The UAE’s flagship satellite solutions provider, Al Yah Satellite Communications Company PJSC (Yahsat), will announce a host of new agreements with various companies specialising in the Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) sectors during the Gitex which runs from October 16 to 20, 2023. The partnerships aim to leverage the power of AI and IoT across different industries, such as agriculture, marine and logistics.
Thuraya, Yahsat’s mobility arm, will also showcase several satellite-powered solutions during Gitex. These include smart irrigation solutions that use IoT sensors to monitor weather and soil conditions; AI-powered solutions to detect wildfires; a monitoring solution that uses Thuraya’s MarineStar to tackle illegal and unregulated fishing; IoT solutions to track and monitor shipping containers in real-time over land and sea and even livestock tracking collars that allows farmers to accurately locate their herds.
