Yahsat’s YahClick & Zodsat announce long-term partnership agreement

Under the agreement, Zimbabwe's satellite and terrestrial network operator Zodsat is committed to capacity on Yahsat’s Ka-band Al Yah 3 satellite, which was launched in 2018.

YahClick, the satellite broadband service from UAE-based satellite operator Yahsat, and its partner Hughes Network Systems have announced the start of a strategic partnership with Zodsat, a teleport, satellite, and terrestrial network operator in Zimbabwe.

Under the agreement, Zodsat is committed to capacity on Yahsat’s Ka-band Al Yah 3 satellite that was launched in 2018. The announcement follows the Smart Agriculture Conference that was held on May 16, 2019, at the Chaminuka Agriculture Technical College in Harare.

The arrangement is aimed at providing Zodsat’s customers in Zimbabwe with a tightly integrated offering and a tailor-made solution to accommodate changing demands and trends of the market.

The addition of Ka-band HTS satellite services to Zodsat’s portfolio reinforces Zodsat positioning as a service provider offering hybrid solutions and technology driven by customer demand.

Commenting on the partnership, Arnold Chimambo, Zodsat’s Chief Executive Officer, said: “The partnership is aimed at providing Zodsat’s customers in Zimbabwe with a tightly integrated offering and a tailor-made solution to accommodate changing demands and trends of the market.”

“This addition to our portfolio builds on our strong and growing relationship with satellite operators. This further extends our infrastructure and network operations, enabling the delivery of reliable, protected and secure communications to our strategic customers,” Chimambo added.

Speaking about the joint agreement, Farhad Khan, YahClick’s Chief Executive Officer added: “We are delighted to be partnering with Zodsat as a long-term client. This agreement is yet another example of YahClick’s growth strategy, which was further enabled by the launch of our third satellite last year, adding 19 new markets to our existing footprint in Africa. We are thrilled Zodsat believes in our cutting-edge connectivity solutions, team’s capabilities and our commitment to the delivery of customised, bespoke services.”

As part of the agreement, Zodsat will have access to YahClick’s latest VNO services.

“Having full control and management over their own capacity, delivers flexibility while providing them with high-speed and economical Ka-band capacity. In addition, Zodsat will be supported by our high-level technical team to offer far-reaching broadband coverage across Zimbabwe,” Khan clarified.

The benefits of YahClick’s VNO services are expansive and include the ability for Zodsat to leverage high-speed and economical capacity of YahClick’s network; full control and management of their allotted capacity and, the ability to commission, control and monitor their own remote sites, while designing and configuring their end-to-end IP network.
