The primary mission of DhabiSat is to enable students to design, implement and test software modules for Attitude Determination and Control Subsystems (ADCS).

The HALO design is based on Northrop Grumman’s Cygnus spacecraft, which conducts resupply missions to the International Space Station.
HALO is one of the first two elements to form the lunar gateway which will be launched in late 2023.
