IMImobile, a mobile data infrastructure and services firm, has signed a deal with Content Connect Africa (CCA). This partnership with the local content provider covers provision of premium local, independent, music and video content throughout Africa.
CCA’s offering of content, which is from South Africa, Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, Cameroon, Ghana and the Ivory Coast, will be used by IMImobile for exclusive ringtones, animation, images and video as well as content to mobile operators in Africa.
“Africa is now the second-fastest growing mobile phone market in the world and with it we see a growing demand for music services,” says Jay Patel, Chief Executive of IMImobile.
Antos Stella, MD of CCA, adds that this partnership is an important step in the company’s strategy to “provide local labels a platform to make their music accessible to a wider audience.”
