Global Invacom, a major player in the design, production, and supply of satellite communications solutions to some of the world’s major satellite broadcasters, will feature waveguides, Fibre-to-Home, dCSS products, Fibre for communication, and a new dCSS low noise blocker at CommunicAsia. Global Invacom holds 71 patents, with 49 pending applications, and claims to be the world’s only full-service outdoor unit supplier of antenna products and services for C-Band, Ku-Band and Ka-Band platforms. The company will showcase new VSAT products including a fiber terminal, a Ka-Band antenna, triple play options for 74 and 90cm antennas and flyaway antennas.
Global Invacom’s 90cm (34.57 x 35.71in) RxTx (Class I) antenna system, compatible with all Ku and Ka bands, is a transmit/receive antenna that has been designed to allow a high data two-way communication. The antenna is used for multiple applications like banks, department store chains, retail networks and gas station to transmit and receive their current stock levels, money transaction and the data communication with the headquarters.
In conjunction with the electronics, the assembly forms a complete ODU (outdoor Unit) that works with any modem available in the industry. The antenna can be installed easily in any part of the world and is adjustable in Azimuth and Elevation, allowing for fast deployment.
While 4G and 5G communication devices need a complicated infrastructure to operate(to work), VSAT antennas (like the 90cm presented) can be deployed easily forming networks supporting two-way communication (data, internet) without the need of cost-intensive towers. The 90cm antenna presented at the show (exhibition) is a part of the large family of VSAT antennas that Global Invacom’s unit Global Skyware manufactures.
All products are manufactured according to the ISO 9001:2008 and other regulatory requirements and can accommodate harsh wind and climate requirements.
The second highlight of the stand will be the Global Skyware revolutionary compact VSAT Fiber LINK system, which provides limitless fibre connectivity at an efficient cost. It can transmit Bi-directional L-Band (50 and 70 Ohm versions) and 10MHz reference signals to and from the BUC/LNB power socket via a single fibre extension cable, without requiring external components.
In modern satellite communication systems, the antenna is located remotely from the Indoor unit or the command room and until now, coax cables were mainly used for the purpose. When the distance between the two facilities was higher, expensive fibre optics networks were the only alternative.
Global Invacom/FOXCOM claims to be a leader within the optical fibre products space covering communications between the remote system and the command room. The company, however, is offering an alternative commercially viable solution for VSAT systems so that customers have a choice between its Foxcom brand solution and a cost-optimised solution for the two-way communication.
The beauty of this solution is that between the IDU and the ODU, only one optical fibre is used and can be installed in minutes covering a distance of maximum 10km between the two stations (positions).
The weatherproof system is compatible with Ethernet or Serial data for SNMP management and control including the VSAT Fiber LINK system. The antenna unit is housed in a compact IP65-rated enclosure and is supplied with a pole mount kit for easy installation on a standard dish stand.
The company will present similar concepts at CommunicAsia for radio communications as this is used by a number of its customers within the defence sector.
A third focus at the show will be the Fibre IRS system, which consists of a headend located at the On-Site Communications Point (comms building). The head end will collect all of the terrestrial signals, satellite signals (from a single orbital position), and DAB radio channels, as required. These signals are then converted to a light source, which allows them to be delivered via a passive fibre optical network to the individual dwellings. These signals are then converted back, via a device called a Gateway Termination Unit (GTU), which is located in each residence. The GTU converts the TV signals from light, back to an RF signal, which allows the TV & radio signals to be delivered around the home using standard signal distribution equipment and coaxial cabling to wall outlets. This allows the customer to connect their standard TV equipment directly into the wall outlet.
All of this will be showcased by Global Invacom’s stand at CommunicAsia.
