As 2012 comes to a close, DigitalGlobe, a provider of commercial high-resolution earth imagery products and services, has announced an end-of-the-year top satellite image contest.

DigitalGlobal has combed through the images captured by Quickbird, WorldView-1, WorldView-2, and found 20 images and are asking viewers to judge the “most interesting, aesthetically pleasing and/or astounding”.

To vote, go to DigitalGlobe’s Facebook page to see the ‘Top Image Contest – 2012 album’. Viewers can “like” as many images as you want, but only the five images with the most likes will make it to the final round.

On December 19, DigitalGlobe will announce the five images with the overall most “likes” and viewers will be able to vote on their favourite image via a Facebook poll. The winning image of 2012 will be announced in early January 2013.
