Azam TV partners with Azercosmos to provide DTT Services in Tanzania

Azercosmos operates Azerspace-1, Azerspace-2 geostationary satellites and low-altitude AzerSky satellite.

Azercosmos, Azerbaijan’s satellite operator and Tanzanian digital satellite services provider Azam TV signed an agreement last week to provide Digital Terrestrial Transmission (DTT) services to Tanzania.

The agreement will have Azercosmos providing DTT services to viewers via its C-band telecommunication satellite, Azerspace-1.

Commenting on the agreement, Azercosmos’s Chief Commercial Officer, Mark Guthrie, said the company is pleased to cooperate with the leading digital satellite service provider in East Africa.

“This agreement is a symbol of our desire to deliver highly-reliable satellite services jointly with our partners to the people of Tanzania,” he noted.

Abubakar Said Salim Bakhresa, Executive Director of Said Salim Bakhresa and Co Ltd, the parent company of Azam TV, added: “We are pleased to partner with Azercosmos in our DTT services infrastructure to provide top-quality TV broadcast to our viewers. Azerspace-1 was our satellite of choice based on its position and reliability over the East African region.”
