The multi-million-dollar orders will support SES’s O3b mPOWER constellation and SES-17, a Ka-band satellite which recently entered service.
Gilat Satellite Networks
In order to bridge the digital divide, SkyEdge II-c will connect rural villages to government networks.
Intelsat and Gilat announced their partnership to use the SkyEdge II-c for IFC in Asia in January.
To serve Gilat's customers' specialised needs, Gilat is deploying SkyEdge II-c hubs and Capricorn VSATs.
The order is higher than the previously announced $50m contract that is currently being delivered.
The platform is equipped with Elastix-TotalNMS for network management, and includes the Aquarius family of VSATs with more than 2 Gbps total throughput.
Gilat’s SkyEdge II-c VSAT network platform supports multiple applications including in-flight connectivity (IFC), consumer broadband, and cellular backhaul.
Gilat will provide operation and maintenance services over a three-year period for the regional broadband transport network.
