SpaceX has rolled out a new premium tier of its Starlink satellite internet service that’s targeted at businesses and enterprise customers.
The new product, which was added to the company’s website, comes at five times the cost of the consumer-focused standard service.
Starlink’s premium service, which will include a dish, a WiFi router and a tripod, will cost users a total of $2,500 for the hardware and another $500 a month for the service. The standard service costs $499 for the hardware and $99 a month.
Premium will offer download speeds between 150 to 500 megabits per second compared to maximum speeds of 150 Mbps on the standard service.
Starlink also said its Premium service will perform better in “extreme weather conditions” and feature prioritised 24/7 tech support.
“Starlink Premium has more than double the antenna capability of Starlink, delivering faster internet speeds and higher throughput for the highest demand users, including businesses,” the SpaceX website said.
The first premium deliveries will begin in Q2, the Starlink website notice added.
The service is targeted to small offices, storefronts, and super users across the globe, and offers improved performance in extreme weather.
